It is a viral infectious disease of the upper respiratory tract which primarily affects the nose and sometimes sinuses, ears, and bronchial tubes.

The common cold is spread either by direct contact and with infected secretions or by inhaling the airborne virus.

Person-to-person transmission may occur or touches their nose and then touches someone and something else.

A healthy individual who then makes direct contact with these secretions and can subsequently become infected.

Often after their contaminated hands and make contact with their own eyes, nose, or mouth.

When a virus manages to overpower the body’s immune system then infection occurs.

The first line of defense is mucus and is produced in the nose & throat by the mucous glands.

This mucus traps anything that can be inhaled, such as dust and viruses & bacteria.

Mucus is a slippery fluid and that the membranes of the nose, mouth, throat, and vagina produce.

Make sure that you have to consume more water than you normally take when healthy.

Drinking fruit juices will also boost your immunity power as it is having vitamin C and be careful.
It is sometimes irritate your throat with too much acidity found in citrus juices.
Avoid alcohol and caffeine product.

Get plenty of fluids.

It helps break up your congestion and makes your throat moist.

It keeps you from getting dehydrated.

You can loosen up your stuffy nose if you breathe in some steam at least two times a day.

  • Wash children’s toys periodically.
  • Use tissues. Sneeze and cough into tissues.
  • Discard used tissues right now and wash your hands carefully.
Teach children to sneeze  and cough into the bend of their elbow when they don’t have a tissue. 
That way they can cover their mouths without using their hands.
