1.Constipation Definition:

In this case, the stool becomes hard, dry and very difficult to pass.

2.Constipation  Causes?

If we are fewer than three bowel movements in a week, it means you have Constipation.

It is a common GASTROINTESTINAL problem in which bowel movements are infrequent, hard stool and come out tightly with pain.

Constipation occurs when the digested food spends too much time in your Colon.

The Colon absorbs too much water and makes your stool hard and dry.

The stool becomes hard means intake of less water by the person, due to this problem Rectal muscle to push out the stool.

And feeling heavy pain in the rectum area, for this reason, stools are not coming smoothly in the rectum path.

 Problems found

1) One who is suffering from Constipation does not have clean motion.

2) He is always lethargic.

3) When going to stool pass-heavy pain feeling.


4) Headache, Low back pain, abdominal pain and some times vomiting feeling.

5) He does not have good sleeping.

4.1) Take USHAPAN:

In the morning take 1 to 3 glass of drinking water immediately after getting up in the morning (do every day).

4.2) Once a week keep Fast.

During Fasting take plenty of water mixed with lemon juice ( warm water is to be used).

4.3) Do Some Light Exercise:

Every day do some light exercise, including deep breathing, take a walk up to 3 to 4 km in the morning at the park or greenery area.

4.4) Take Enema:

Take Enema daily or every alternate day under the guidance of Naturopath.

During this green vegetable and light food to be taken, no protein like- fish, chicken, egg to be avoided.

4.5) Take Wheat Bran Mixed With Food:

Constipation is also removed by taking 50 gm of wheat bran and mixed with food in the morning and evening.

It can be mixed in wholemeal bread, in vegetable or in the pulse.


4.6) Take Lemon Juice:

One lemon ’s juice mixed within half glass of cold water may be taken 3 to 4 times per day.

4.7)Don’t Take Water When Taking Food:

Do not take water when taking food.

Water should be taken half an hour before and one hour after.

If required 1 or 2 sips of drinking water can be taken after taking a meal.

4.8) Taking Honey Instead of Tea:

One who is suffering from Constipation should give up the habit of taking tea in the morning regularly.

Instead of taking tea one should take lemon water adding with one spoon of honey and mix it and drink it.

4.9) Chewing Properly:

One should intake food after chewing several times and, a person can use a spoon instead of hand.

If SURYA NAMASKAR exercise is done everyday morning on a regular basis for 10 to 15 minutes also relief from Constipation.

5.2) Try Pada Hastasan:

Constipation is easily removed by Pada-Hastasan and Paschimottanasan.

Do them in the following manner :

  • Stand erect with both feet joined together
  • and hands raised.
  • Now bend slowly along with the arms.
  • Pull the stomach inwards as much as possible.
  • Hold the big toes of the feet with the fingers of both the hands.
  • Care should be taken that hands, legs, and knees are straight.

After practicing this position place the palm n the ground, while the heels of both feet are also firmly on the ground.

This asana should be done in the morning or evening for 10 minutes.
